During the week from October 7 to 11, 2024, students majoring in “072 Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market” of the Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance and Master’s degree in Finance, together with Olena Zhuravka, a lecturer at the Department of Financial Technologies and Entrepreneurship, took part in the online lecture of the School of Insurance from the Talan Financial Knowledge Center of the National Bank of Ukraine as part of the study of such disciplines as Insurance and Insurance Management. In accordance with the terms of the Insurance School program, a certificate will be issued.
The lecture program included the following topics:
1. “Insurance in detail: instructions for using a financial service” (speaker – Olena Baranova, Chief Economist of the Insurance Market Regulation Methodology Division of the Department of Methodology for Regulating the Activities of Non-Banking Financial Institutions);
2. “Insurance from A to Z: what a consumer needs to know when buying insurance” (speaker – Olga Lobaychuk, Head of the Financial Services Consumer Protection Department of the NBU);
3. “Behind the scenes of insurance: how insurance companies work” (speaker – Viktor Berlin, President of the League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine);
4. “Insurance products and services that shape trends in insurance” (speaker – Denys Yastreb, CEO of the National Association of Insurers of Ukraine);
5. “Compulsory motor insurance: how to manage financial risks on the road” (speaker – Alexander Bernazyuk, Director General of MTPL Insurance;
6. “History of Insurance: How has mankind learned to manage uncertainty?” (speaker – Marta-Maria Kostiv, representative of the Public Relations and Financial Awareness Department of the NBU Communications Department).
We would like to thank the organizers of the event for their informative and professional coverage of the development of the insurance industry in Ukraine and for their important contribution to improving financial literacy in the insurance sector. As experience shows, as a result of such meetings with specialists, applicants not only acquire new knowledge but also develop certain professional competencies.
