Project “School of Decentralization for Youth” (August – December 2015)
The project is implemented by the Public Organization “Council of Young Scientists” (Sumy), whose members are representatives of the Department of Financial technologies and Entrepreneurship (previously Department of Finance, Banking and Insurance) and is financed by the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland (FDFA) through the Cooperation Bureau at the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine with the support of the Sumy Regional Postgraduate Institute pedagogical education.

The goal of the project is to acquaint students of 10-11 grades of general education institutions of the Sumy region with the main advantages of the decentralization reform in Ukraine, to improve the skills of leading high school students in debates on socio-economic issues, to form an active life position of young people.
The main tasks of the project include:
- emphasizing the attention of teachers and students on modern problems of the community;
- formation of public, legal, socio-political consciousness among young people;
- the orientation of teachers to the inclusion in the educational process of methods of training young people as citizens of a democratic society and a state governed by the rule of law.
The uniqueness of the pilot project is that in a short period of time, teachers of the Sumy region will receive the necessary knowledge about the main tasks of reforming local self-government and decentralization of power. It is expected that after the pilot implementation, the specified course will cover all schools in the region, which is more than 540 educational institutions in the region.

In 2019, a joint project of the Czech University of Natural Sciences (Prague) and Sumy State University began. Sumy National Agrarian University, Belotserkiv National Agrarian University, Kharkiv National Agrarian University and Dnipro State Agrarian and Economic University also joined the implementation of the project called “Inter-university cooperation as a tool for improving the quality of selected universities of Ukraine”.
