Panel discussion “Current skills and employment prospects of a students in specialty 072 “Finance, Banking and Insurance”

Panel discussion «Current skills of a specialist in specialty 072 «Finance, banking and insurance» and employment prospects».

 On September 29, 2021 there was a panel discussion «Current skills of a specialist in specialty 072 «Finance, banking and insurance» and employment prospects» which was attended by teachers of the Department of Financial Technology and Entrepreneurship, students 1-4 courses of 072 «Finance, Banking and Insurance», as well as invited stakeholders. 

Among the invited guests-employers were present:

  • Kuchkov Alexander Vladimirovich, Director of the Department of economic development and trade of Sumy regional state administration.
  • Trepalin Roman Oleksandrovych, Head of the Competitive bidding department of the Sumy city council.
  • Reznik Victoria Vyacheslavovna, Head of the Department of personnel and personnel development of the main department of the State tax service in Sumy region.
  • Spivakova Lilia Volodymyrivna, Head of the Personnel department of the main department of the Pension fund of Ukraine in Sumy oblast.
  • Lilia Volodymyrivna, Head of the Personnel Department of the Main Department of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Sumy Oblast.
  • Rekunenko Vitaliy Anatoliivna, Deputy head of the regional branch of JSCB Industrial Bank in Sumy.•
  • Chepurko Victoria Oleksandrivna, Deputy head of the finance department, Head of the management accounting department of JSC  «SMNVO-Engineering»

Among the main issues discussed at the plenary discussion are global trends in the requirements for soft and hard skills of modern workers, as well as coverage of competencies that should, in accordance with the standards of higher education in Ukraine, have graduates 072 «Finance, Banking and Insurance» .The meeting began with an introductory speech by the head of the department, doctor of economics, professor L.L. Gritsenko, who noted the importance of cooperation between the department and stakeholders in training competitive and in-demand professionals for public and municipal sectors of the economy, deposit and non-deposit financial institutions as well as business. Deputy head of the department for work with employers Ph.D., T. G. Kubah highlighted the need to develop soft and hard skills of a modern specialist, outlined the global requirements for workers in accordance with the analytical reports «The future of jobs» of the World Economic Forum.

Member of the project group of the educational program «Banking» Ph.D., associate professor of Department of financial technology and entrepreneurship O.V. Krukhmal drew the attention of the audience to the general and professional competencies that students will receive in the specialty 072 «Finance, Banking and Insurance», and emphasized the need to develop integrated competence as the ability to solve complex specialized problems.

In the second half of the meeting, the invited stakeholders expressed their views on the necessary skills of the future specialist in the specialty 072 «Finance, Banking and Insurance», and also shared their own experience in the development of competencies. L.V. Spivakova, Head of the personnel department of the main department of the Pension fund of Ukraine in the Sumy region, and V.V. Reznik, Head of the personnel and personnel development department of the main department of the State tax service in the Sumy

Region, answered questions about employment opportunities in detail. requirements and mechanism for participation in competitions for positions in state and local authorities.The plenary discussion was held in a friendly atmosphere, students showed activity and interest in communicating with stakeholders, which contributed to a high level of productivity of the meeting.
