Second-year student majoring in “Banking”, Iryna Kozhushko successfully began her studies as part of international academic mobility at the University of Foggia (Foggia, Italy). Iryna will study at the Faculty of Economics, Management and Territory during the spring semester of the 2022/2023 academic year, majoring in “Economics and Management”. The head of international mobility is the deputy head of the department for international work with students, intern-lecturer Oleksandra Tverezovska.
Iryna’s first impressions of studies:
“I`ve chosen areas that are quite relevant for the modern world for studying at the University of Foggia, – Data Analysis, Public Finance and Business English. In particular, the acquired knowledge will become a good basis for understanding the surprisingly dynamic economic world, as well as comparing the European experience in certain aspects with the domestic one.
First of all, I must say that studying in a foreign higher education institution is a radically new experience for me. It not only provides opportunities for development in the scientific aspect, but also changes internally, becomes a driver of personal growth.
One of the main challenges so far has been language, as most average Italians do not communicate in English, unlike students, lecturers and university staff. In addition, not only native Italians, but also many exchange students from different countries receive their education here. For better adaptation, Italian language courses are organized for students twice a week, which I also have the opportunity to join.
I especially enjoyed the experience of communicating with the employees of the university’s international office, who always answer any questions meaningfully.
In the end, I will say that, of course, at the beginning, the prospect of spending a semester in an unfamiliar country worried and confused me, but now I understand that the experience and impressions gained are worth any effort.
Therefore, if you are still hesitating whether it is worth participating in international academic mobility programs, I unequivocally say that it is worth it!”
