Oleksandra TVEREZOVSKA, a PhD student at the Department of Financial Technologies and Entrepreneurship, who recently returned from a week-long international training as part of Erasmus + in Northern Macedonia, shared her impressions and plans for the future.
1 Oleksandro, you recently returned from the week-long international training “Act on the Spot” in Bitola (Northern Macedonia). Tell us something about this training?
Emotions from training and life in Northern Macedonia are still overflowing. The training aimed to bring together youth leaders from different countries to learn and understand the differences between youth groups, analyze the place and role of youth work in modern world, identify areas of responsibility for youth work, and focus on overcoming inequalities between different youth groups. After all, the European Union recognizes that youth work plays a crucial role in developing young people’s ability to succeed in adulthood, in becoming positive European citizens and in recognizing their place and contribution to the global community.
2 Participants of which countries were represented at the training?
The training was attended by 33 participants from 13 countries: Ukraine, Montenegro, Albania, Romania, Turkey, Kosovo, Serbia, the Netherlands, Northern Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Italy and Belgium.
3 What did you like the most and what did you surprise the most?
What I liked the most was the atmosphere that prevailed among the participants, as well as the format in which the speakers worked and organized the learning process. The training was based on non-formal education tools, such as group work, discussions, brainstorming, study visits, discussions, group and individual group reflections, etc.
Perhaps the country and the pace of life in the cities, as well as the color of the local population, surprised me the most.
4 How did the training affect your plans in the near future?
The training only improved my educational and personal skills, gave me the opportunity to meet the youth of different regions, provided a great experience and gave rise to a relentless desire to further develop and move forward!
