Representatives of the Department of Financial Technologies and Entrepreneurship, teachers, graduate students and students of specialty 072 “Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market” took part in the main fintech event of the year – the UAFIN.TECH 2025 conference on December 12, 2025.
This year’s event brought together over a thousand participants to discuss a key transformation of the industry: the transition from traditional banking to the “finance everywhere” model.
What was discussed at UAFIN.TECH 2025? The central topic of the conference was the phenomenon of Embedded Finance. Experts emphasized that financial services are no longer a separate product and are becoming an integral part of non-financial services: from retail and logistics to healthcare.
Key insights from the conference that our delegation studied:
• Invisible Banking: The client of the future does not want to “go to the bank.” He wants to get a loan, insurance or make a payment at the time of purchasing a product in one click.
• Bank as a Platform (BaaS): How Ukrainian banks are transforming into technology platforms that provide their infrastructure to other companies.
• Artificial Intelligence and Hyperpersonalization: Using AI to ensure that a financial offer appears exactly when the user needs it.
• Digital Resilience of Ukraine: Despite the challenges of the war, Ukrainian fintech continues to introduce innovations that are becoming an example for the European market.
Why is this important for the department?
For students and postgraduates, it was a chance to see how theoretical knowledge about payment systems and financial intermediation is embodied in revolutionary technologies. Discussion of the concept of “Banking-as-a-Service” (BaaS) gave impetus to new topics for master’s theses and scientific research.
The department’s lecturers emphasized the need to adapt educational courses to the realities of the “embedded economy”. The received cases from leading market players (NBU, top banks and fintech startups) will be integrated into the educational process so that our graduates possess the tools of the future today.
“The conference clearly showed: the boundary between finance and technology has finally disappeared. Today, a financier is a person who understands data architecture and algorithms no less than the bank balance sheet,” – representatives of the department shared their impressions.
Participation in UAFIN.TECH 2025 once again confirmed the status of our department as a center of progressive knowledge and innovation in training new generation specialists.
We are creating the financial ecosystem of the future together!
