On October 16, 2025, within the framework of the course “Financial Strategies of the Enterprise” (topic “Modeling the Financial Strategy of the Enterprise”), fourth-year students of group F-21, together with the course instructor, Doctor of Economics, Professor Oleksii Zakharkin took part in a practice-oriented event, the Deloitte Webinar at Economist Career Way.
Webinar topic: “How Numbers Become the Foundation for Strategy: The Art of Financial Modeling.”
During the session, students explored how numerical data shape strategic business decisions, the role of financial modeling in this process, and how international companies apply analytical tools in strategic consulting.
The speakers from Deloitte Ukraine Andrii Kulyk, Manager of the Financial Advisory Department, and Nazar Popriichuk, Consultant of the Financial Advisory Department shared practical cases of applying financial models in M&A, strategic consulting, business valuation, and risk management.
During the webinar, the following issues were discussed:
• the role of economic and mathematical models in strategic financial management;
• types and structure of effective financial models;
• the impact of macroeconomic instability on DCF models and business valuation.
The acquired knowledge became a practical continuation of the lectures and practical sessions of the course “Financial Strategies of the Enterprise”, particularly the topic “Modeling the Financial Strategy of the Enterprise.”
Participation in the event helped students connect theoretical knowledge with real business cases, gain a deeper understanding of quantitative justification in strategic financial decision-making, and develop awareness of modern analytical approaches used by leading international consulting companies.
