Practical class with the head of the insurance department of the Sumy Regional Directorate of PJSC «NASK «ORANTA» Lavryk I. V.

On December 4, 2025, as part of the Insurance Management course, master’s students majoring in D2 «Finance, Banking, Insurance, and Stock Market» of the educational program «Finance» met with Iryna Lavryk, head of the insurance department of the Sumy Regional Directorate of PJSC NASK «ORANTA», who shared her own experience in the insurance business.
It should be noted that a branch of the Department of Financial Technologies and Entrepreneurship, created to improve the professional and practical training of higher education seekers, has been operating at the Sumy Regional Directorate of PJSC NASK «ORANTA» for the fourth year. This year, due to safety conditions, students had the opportunity to visit the branch and talk to Iryna online.
The meeting focused on issues related to the organization of the insurance claims settlement process in the practical activities of an insurance company, which were discussed within the framework of the practical training session «Risk Management in Insurance and Insurance Claims Settlement».
During the meeting, students learned:
• what are the main stages of insurance claims settlement procedures established by insurance companies;
• what functions are performed by the claims settlement service;
• what documents must be provided by the insured and what actions must be taken by the parties to the insurance contract in the event of an insured event;
• how the causes and consequences of an insured event are examined;
• in which situations insurance companies can refuse to pay insurance compensation;
• when insurers file recourse claims against persons responsible for causing insurance events.
Students actively participated in the discussion and asked questions.
