On October 16, 2025, students of the educational programs “Finance” (bachelor’s and master’s levels) and “Banking” of the Department of Financial Technologies and Entrepreneurship at Sumy State University continued their participation in the series of career webinars under the international project Economist Career Way, organized by leading companies.
The first event of the day was a webinar hosted by Deloitte, one of the largest professional services firms in the world, providing audit, business consulting, financial advisory, risk management, and tax services. The topic of the webinar was “How Numbers Become the Foundation of Strategy: The Art of Financial Modeling”. Speakers Andrii Kulyk, Manager at the Financial Advisory Department of Deloitte Ukraine, and Nazar Popriichuk, Consultant at the same department, shared practical insights into the use of financial models in strategic decision-making. They discussed various areas where financial modeling is applied: from M&A transactions to strategic consulting key elements of effective models, and the impact of macroeconomic instability on DCF-based business valuation.
The next session was held by the National Bank of Ukraine on the topic “To Save or to Spend”. Yevhenii Bielashov, Chief Expert of the Strategy and Development Department of the NBU, presented modern saving strategies, compared available financial instruments, and emphasized the importance of financial literacy as a foundation of personal resilience amid economic challenges.
Participation in these events allowed students to deepen their knowledge of financial modeling, business valuation, strategic planning, and personal finance, as well as to get acquainted with modern practices shaping the future of Ukraine’s financial sector.
