From the 1st to 5th of March 2016 in Ukrainian Academy of Banking the second winter Jean Monnet School “Financial Aspects of Euro Integration for PhD Students and Young Scientists” was held.
Young scientists from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lutsk, Poltava, Cherkasy, Dubno and Sumy took part in the Jean Monnet School under the support of grant program of the EU Erasmus+. Topics of lectures included theoretical questions and practical mechanisms of realization of Ukraine’s financial integration into the EU.
The participants had possibility to listen to the course of lectures attended by academics of Ukrainian Academy of Banking, such as: Professor T.A. Vasylieva, Professor F.O. Zhuravka, Associate Professor T.G. Savchenko, Associate Professor L.Yu. Sysoyeva.
Also the participants listened to the Skype-lecture of Jean Monnet Professor Stefano Usai from the University of Cagliari (Italy) on the topic “Support of Development and Governance in the EU: Regional Aspect”. The Italian Professor presented results of the EU Report on social and economic development of countries-members of the EU and described current problems in the EU.
For the first time managers of leading banking institutions of Sumy region joined the School. Thus, one of the events was a round table with Professor T.A. Vasylieva and Director of Sumy regional department of “Oschadbank” Oleg Radchenko on the topic “State Banks of Ukraine: Opportunities or Challenges for the Economy”. The great interest among listeners was attracted by the discourse on the topic “European Banking in Ukraine: Reality of Implementation: Opinion of the Banker”, which was held by Professor T.A. Vasylieva and Director of Sumy regional department of “PrivatBank” Igor Cherniavskyi.
During the School the academics of Banking Department S.D. Bohma and A.S. Lasukova organized a workshop for participants on the topic “New Business Technologies in the context of European and Ukrainian cooperation”. At the workshop the participants got acquainted with novelties in the sphere of banking technologies and worked in groups on the development of new unique banking product. The competition was held in very realistic circumstances under which every group had to sell its unique banking product to different categories of clients.
In the end of the course school participants presented their own projects concerning financial aspects of European integration.
The cultural program of the school was also very rich. Thus, school participants visited the Museum of development of banking in Sumy region and the history of money, made sightseeing trip around Sumy and its historical places.
Upon finishing the school all of the participants got certificates, which prove their going through a course under the program of the EU Erasmus+.
The project participants noted that winter Jean Monnet School had proved a high level of professionalism of lecturers, who were preparing and presenting the material.
