Discussion of European integration processes of Ukraine by the students and pupils of Sumy in the frames of the project “Youth debates”.
On the 03.03.2015 in the multimedia centre of academy scientific library the meeting of the students, lectures, pupils and teachers of Sumy schools was held in the frames of the project of the chair of Banking and the chair of foreign languages “Youth debates”. Among the invitees there were Martin Reuthers, coordinator of European office and international educational cooperation and Gabriel Wolkenfeld, lecture of the German fund named after Robert Bosch. During the debates there was a discussion of the questions concerning the topic “European choice of Ukraine: economic, cultural-educational and social aspects”.
At the beginning prof. Vasilieva T. A., the head of the chair of banking, addressed a meeting, emphasizing the importance of discussions clubs conducting in academy, which discuss European integration of Ukraine. She also pointed out that it’s very important to invite the representatives of European Union, in particular Germany.
The students of academy presented a report, in which they informed the participants about new economic opportunities for Ukraine after signing the association agreement with EU. After that there was a discussion concerning necessity of structural reforms and transformational changes at the modern stage of our state development. It was followed by the reports of pupils of gymnasium № 1, Oleksandrivska gymnasium, and school № 10. It should be pointed out, that despite young age, pupils demonstrated reasonable position towards cultural, educational and social aspects of Ukrainian society.
Especially interesting there were comments of the invitees. Thus, Martin Reuthers emphasized the importance of integration connections between Ukraine and Germany. And Gabriel Wolkenfeld suggested discussing the questions of importance of cooperation with Ukraine for the countries of EU and expressed an opinion concerning necessity of cultural identity understanding by young generation of Ukraine.
The participants of debates put interesting questions and communicated fluently in German.
The next meeting on the topic “Vital tendencies of banking system development”, will be held in April. This meeting will be visited by the Austrian professor.
