On November\u00a0 25, 2021, the next issue of the newspaper “Yarmarok” was printed. In\u00a0 this newspaper published a popular scientific\u00a0 publication entitled “Will the new law ” On forensic activity ” become another swallow of judicial reform?”,\u00a0 prepared by the professor of our department Ihor Basantsov.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the article was analyzed the provisions of the law \u2116 6284 “On forensic activities”, which proposes to regulate the legal basis and improve forensic activities in Ukraine.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The author points out that this is necessary when creating conditions of self-government for forensic experts, as well as improving citizens’ access to forensic services by equalizing the powers of private and public forensic experts and increasing the level of competition between them.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is also noted that the law provides for the settlement of the\u00a0 reviews\u00a0 questions of the expert opinion, as well as the responsibility of the forensic expert, the grounds for bringing a forensic expert to disciplinary responsibility and the types of disciplinary sanctions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It should be said that the current law of Ukraine “On Forensic Examination” was adopted in 1994. But in 25 years, a significant part of the current law positions has become obsolete and needs fundamental updating, due to European integration processes, international experience in regulating such activities and the practice of conducting forensic examinations. <\/span><\/p>\n

Basantsov predicts that the activities of not only state specialized institutions, as it now exists, but also institutions of any form of ownership, will be able to make the forensic system transparent, accessible to all entities, including lawyers, law enforcement agencies, courts and citizens.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
