Among the guests of the Conference were <strong>Dave Hartnett<\/strong>, former permanent secretary for Tax at HM Revenue and customs (Great Britain), HSBC Holdings plc advisor on financial crime governance, who gave a presentation on <em>\u201cHow can Civil Society Help Ensure the Effectiveness of Anti-Corruption Efforts?\u201d<\/em>; his Beatitude cardinal <strong>Lubomir (Guzar)<\/strong> with the speech on <em>\u201cChristian values in corruption control\u201d<\/em>; <strong>Oleg Bereziuk<\/strong>, people\u2019s deputy of Ukraine with the presentation on <em>\u201cCorruption \u2013 the main menace of our society development\u201d<\/em> and others.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the Seminar a Round Table on the <em>\u201cRole and place of civil society in corruption control\u201d<\/em> took place, during which audience joined the discussion on practical methods and approaches to corruption and bribery control in society. For information, the point of view of the associate professor <strong>Lukin D.<\/strong>, presented during the Round Table, brought on an intense discussion, as he put an increased focus on the necessity of legislative review for the purpose of limitation of capability to deploy corruption schemes, particularly in the sphere of banking, and shared his own observations on inconsistencies between various institutions.<\/p>\n<p>In general, the participants of the Seminar made a point of focusing on distinct and practical measures, defining a particular action programme, common initiatives and integrating efforts.
